Unforgettable tour

What a Wonderful Trip

The tours were good. Stacey, the tour guide was by far the best although all tour guides were knowledgeable about the animals and wildlife. Did the boat tour on our first day and got up really close to the hippos. The next day was a full day safari (with rain - so bring jackets and sweaters as it can get cold). Fortunately, the rain stopped by midday so we were able to have a famous South African "braai" (barbecue) where baby warthogs were running close by us. We got to see a rare black rhino, plus white rhinos, zebras, buffalos, gazelles, giraffes, and countless other animals but no "cats".

The night safari should not be missed as you see as many, if not more animals than on a day safari.

The beach at St Lucia (which was included on part of our third day tour) is interesting. Masks and snorkels are provided to swim among-st the various colored fish. Stacey prepared a great, delicious lunch.

Loved It 2 Night Package

So we did the 2 night, 3 day tour, which consists of four trips - one estuary cruise, two safari drives (one at 5 am and one at 8 pm) and a final beach + bush experience. It was really easy to book online with the help of the lovely Bev. As for the safari, we loved every minute of it - and it didn’t hurt that we got lucky and saw some amazing animals! We saw lions, rhinos, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, zebras and giraffes to name but a few. But the best thing about Heritage are the staff! We had Stacey, David, Mandla and Paul - all of them were extremely knowledgeable and passionate. They really enriched the experience and explained things to us that we would never have gathered if we’d done a self drive! The guides could not have done enough to make sure we had a great experience. The accommodation is lovely too - it’s just around the corner from the office at Heritage House. If you’re not sure about St Lucia or Hluhluwe - DO IT! It’s a really authentic experience - it’s not crowded, there aren’t masses of tourists like at Kruger. The reserve is public so guides can’t go off road, meaning that you’re seeing the animals naturally, and it makes it all the more exciting when you spot one.

Amazing experience - excellent guides

We did the night hippo cruise with Stacey, the full day safari with Zane and the half day safari and night drive with Kyle. All guides were excellent - great knowledge. Turned up on time, very professional, accommodating and friendly. Saw lots of amazing animals. Great bbq lunch on the full day safari. Zane went snorkeling with us at Cape Vidal which was awesome having a guide with us in the water. Cannot recommend enough! Thanks team 🙂

Then travel on one of the largest estuaries in Africa the St Lucia estuary home to the largest population of Hippos in South Africa. Night drive safari into iSimangaliso Wetland Park go insearch of the elusive Leopard, Hippos, Buffalo and Elephants just to mention a few of the magical sightings at night. Then travel into the Eastern shores of iSimangaliso Wetland park on a half day bush and beach safari tour. One has the opportunity to enjoy more magical wildlife as well as a chance to finally relax on the pristine beach of Cape Vidal or enjoy some snorkeling in the protected bay. All accommodation is based in St Lucia (at heritage house) on a Bed and Breakfast basis.
