Hluhluwe Umfolozi offers access via three gates namely the Nyalazi Gate in the South, Memorial Gate in the North and Cengeni from Ulundi's side. No matter which gate one decides apon while driving from Durban one will be inundated with wildlife and it's beauty apon arrival.
Directions from Durban
From Durban take the N2 Northbound please note that this is a toll road, continue for approx 2,5 hours. One may enter the Umfolozi (Nyalazi Gate) which is closer to Durban and will afford one to travel through the southern section of the park, this side is very active with predators and Elephants. Should you like to enter through the Hluhluwe side then travel to the town of Hluhluwe turn left and then continue towards the Park. For the Nyalazi Gate take the Mtubatuba offramp and continue towards Nongoma you will the turn off for the Gate on the left.
