The majority of game drive safaris in South Africa are conducted in Open Game Drive safari vehicles for various reasons one being sightings, smell and touch. Further north Kenya for instance safaris are predominantly offered in closed vehicles as the distances travelled are far larger and thus comfort plays a larger factor. However in South Africa this is not the case. Should you like to join in on a Durban Safari then one has various options one being that you could transfer yourself to Hluhluwe Umfolozi and meet the waiting game drive safari vehicle or you could be transferred to the park via one of our transfer vehicles departing daily from Durban.
Durban Safaris Departing Daily
Join us and discover the incredible and magnificent Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve while out on a Durban Safari, a mere 2,5 hours North of Durban. Travel north via the N2 towards Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve, alternatively one can be transferred with Heritage Tours & Safaris. The company offers transfers daily from Durban and the surrounds. Hluhluwe Umfolozi is a 96000 hectare reserve with the Big 5, Wild Dogs and Cheetah to mention but just a few of the larger animals found within the park. The majority of the safaris are conducted within the Umfolozi for numerous reasons one being that it offers a wider selection of wildlife due to the vegetation and topography, with larger open savannahs one has a greater vantage point. Other contributing factors are that one has more access to watering holes and rivers in the south compared to the north. All in all these factors contribute greatly while out on safari.
Durban Safari Options
Various safari options are available when travelling from Durban, the most popular option is the full day safari. This safari includes all catering breakfast and lunch and all conservation fees. Half Day Safari includes conservation fees and breakfast, and then their is the 3 hour safari which only includes conservation fees.
When deciding on which Durban safari one needs to contemplate how much time one has available as the old saying goes the more time one has in any reserve the better the chances are of seeing more. However more than often clients have seen so much on a half day safari that they really did not have to do a full day safari unfortunately their is just no way of saying before hand that tomorrow will or should be better than any other.
