Umfolozi / Imfolozi Nyalazi Gate Entrance
Nyalazi Gate is one of the three gates that may be utilized when accessing the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve. The Nyalazi Gate is situated in the Umfolozi / Imfolozi side of the park, please note that this gate is closer to the following Towns, Mtubatuba, St Lucia, Durban and Richardsbay.

From the Nyalazi Gate one can access both the Umfolozi or Hluhluwe sides of the game reserve. It is advisable to travel South from the Nyalazi Gate towards Mpilla and on to Sontuli Loop as these are some of the most magnificent areas to visit while in the reserve.
Please note that the Nyalazi Gate times do vary according to season and it is advisable to ensure that you have the right times before hand.
Should you have booked any accommodation within the Umfolozi reserve then one should rather enter from the Nyalazi Gate as the distances would be shorter in getting to either of the accommodation establishments depending on your amount of time. Please note that private driving after certain times within the game reserve is limited.
This Elephant was video'd at the Nyalazi Gate, once again please note that wild animals roam freely within the reserve and care must be taken prior to leaving ones vehicle anywhere within the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve. This includes all hides, picnic spots and accommodation areas.
Speed limits within the reserve is 40km/h please refrain from speeding in any reserve not only does speed kill but one will also not have the opportunity of seeing the wildlife big or small.
