Oribi Gorge
About Oribi
A canyon situated in KwaZulu Nata, South Africa aproxiamately 120km south of Durban. Oribi gorge is cut by the Mzimkulwana river. The gorge is aproxiamately 400 meters deep and virtually 5km wide at its widest point.
Combined corrosion by the river and weather elements has carved out 30km of incredible kloofs covered by subtropical vegetation and inhabitated by by small mammals.
Did you know that the road through Oribi gorge was built by Italian prisoners of war.Small Oribi (antelope) may be seen that live in the gorges.

Hluhluwe-Imfolozi
Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve is situated in the North Eastern side on KwaZulu Natal and is the largest Big 5 Game Reserve within the province of Natal, South Africa. This reserve boasts the Big 5 and other incredible animal species such as Cheetah and Wild Dogs but to mention only a few of the spectacular wildlife species that one may encounter while within the reserve.

Description of Oribi Antelope
They only grow to a height of 90 to 110 cm and weigh between 10 to 22 kg. With a spectacular speed of up to 50km/h. Lifespan of 13/14 years in captivity.
Reproduction of Oribi
Their breeding season is between August and December, the male will only breed with the females in his territory during this period. Their gestation period is between 6 to 7 months from which a single offspring is born. For 10 weeks the female will hide her young and the mother will periodically suckle her offspring. Females will reach sexual maturity after 10 months and males after 14 months.
