Day 1- Pick-Up Durban International Airport or Surrounding Area
Arrive at King Shaka International Airport, and travel to St Lucia South Africa. Get settled in and meet with a guide for orientation. ( please indicate should you require a transfer). Late afternoon join us on a Hippo & Croc Boat Cruise up the St Lucia Estuary to witness Hippo wallowing, Nile Crocodiles, African Fish Eagle, and a lot more. After dinner we are off on a Sunset or Night Drive Safari into the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park in search of Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo, Chameleons, and lots lots more, hear the bush come alive..

Day 2-Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve Big 5 Safari
Board the 4x4 open game drive vehicle as we are off on an early Big 5 safari to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve, witnessing the wildlife in the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa. Keep an eye out for the Big 5, African Wild Dog, and Cheetah that hunt in the open plains.
Traditional South African bush barbecue in the reserve while observing the wildlife at one of the many scenic picnic spots. With spectacular vantage points, your personal and knowledgeable game ranger will get you the sightings that you love to see. African Vultures swirling in the skies, cries of Hyenas, and Wild Dogs hunting this safari will remain with you for years to come.

Day 3-Cape Vidal (iSimangaliso Wetland Park)
An early departure as we set off into the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park, a World Heritage Site this park has a lot to offer, 5 distinct ecosystems, mangroves, forests, vegetated dunes, estuary, and marine reserve, we go in search of the endangered Samango Monkey, snorkel in the protected bay of Cape Vidal, short hike to Mission rocks lookout, watch out for those monkeys at lunch. Witness the Humpbacks in winter as they migrate past the point of Cape Vidal.

Day 4-Depart for Durban
After a hearty breakfast, we transfer you to Durban International and bid you farewell.

What to Pack
On this magnificent 3 Night Safari it is advisable to bring a camera and extra batteries, memory cards and if possible a pair of binoculars. A light jacket preferably waterproof as the African weather can be quite unpredictable.
A backpack that is either dust or waterproof with various size zip lock bags for those valuable memory cards and camera lenses. Please do refrain from wearing brightly colored clothing while out on safari.
Wear comfortable clothing, summer temperatures can be quite warm while winter temperatures are very pleasant. All game drive vehicles carry extra bottled water and blankets for the transfers further all vehicles have hard tops and they can also close up completely for your convenience.
What to Expect
Zululand is picturesque with its rolling hills and incredible wildlife, staying over in St Lucia will undoubtedly add value as this area was proclaimed as a world heritage site in 1999 due to mainly its incredible biospheres and wildlife.
Imagine hippos still roaming the streets at night in search of pasture or bush babies in the trees. Nowhere else can one enjoy both bush and beach and wildlife in such an incredible setting.

Perfect Package

We used Heritage tours for a 3 day/4-night safari with a group of four people. The booking was efficiently done from Germany via email with a short response time. On the arrival day, we were welcomed st Heritage office and a detailed agenda with necessary information was provided! (Thanks very much, Precious, for everything!) Overall, we can only recommend to used Heritage tours for a safari - no need to worry for anything and everything perfectly organized to the detail!

AMAZING guides not to be missed!! We went on an evening Hippo/Crocodile boat tour, Hluhluwe Imfolozi day safari, Western shore night tour, and morning Eastern shore tour. Her knowledge of the area, animals, culture, and environment made all of our tours fun and educational.
Her attention to detail and safety allowed us to relax while in her care. She went out of her way to share her camera lens with our daughter and picked up and delivered our passports left behind in a hotel safe. Her co-worker Vuzi who drove us when not on safaris, was also fantastic and very knowledgeable often stopping for us to see animals or explain Zulu culture. He was a great driver, very trustworthy and we felt secure with him driving us.

Not sure where to begin. From my first chat to the last day, our experience was the best!. Bev was fantastic. She responded quickly to every chat. She was extremely helpful when we missed our flight in the US and our trip was delayed by a day. She was able to shift our accommodations by a day. The 3-Night Safari Package included every little detail and was done better than if I did it myself. Zayne our ranger for three days was awesome . . . extremely knowledgeable and funny! On the last day, Bev arranged for lunch overlooking the Indian Ocean (all details that weren't part of our original plan).

The views were amazing. Lots of animals in their own habitat - wonderful. Lots of photos. Couldn't fault our trip. It was an amazing experience and I would recommend people put it on their bucket list.

Each Ranger / Skipper is either Theta or FUGASA registered, all rangers are first aid qualified and also have PDP's (professional drivers licenses) & Samsa registered Skipper's licenses as per the South African Roads Act & Samsa South Africa.

Enjoy traveling while in Open Game Drive Safari Vehicle. The fleet of vehicles are Toyota Land Cruisers and Hilux 4x4's. These vehicles have proven themselves as being the most reliable in the African Bush.
