Itinerary – 5 Days

Day 1 King Shaka International Airport Durban

Meet your game ranger for the duration of your stay. We transfer you to St Lucia, South Africa’s first World Heritage site. Once you have settled in at your deluxe accommodation meet up with your guide for a safari briefing to answer all of your questions, watch the excitement. Next some sightseeing, travel by open game drive vehicle through the quaint little village of St Lucia and get yourself orientated. Meet the resident Hippo’s that roam the streets by night. Tonight your first nocturnal Night Drive Safari, 3 hour outing as we explore the Western Shores of iSimanagliso, the reserve boasts Elephants, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard be bewildered to see Hippo’s wandering and grazing to mention but just few of the splendid sights that one may witness.

Day 2 A World Heritage Site iSimangaliso Safari

A tasty breakfast while listening to the Hornbills and then we are off to iSimangaliso Wetlands Park (Eastern Shores), it’s a day of exploration, through meandering forests, vegetated sand dunes and amazing savannah grasslands. This open air 4×4 safari gives you panoramic views of Kudu’s grazing, Buffalo stares and Rhino’s resting. Keep your eye out for that elusive Leopard. A short hike to the top of Mission’s a magnetic view awaits you. Meet the Indian Ocean at Cape Vidal, warm tropical waters year round gives you an opportunity to snorkel in a protected bay (weather permitting) or just relax on the beach while your ranger prepares a tasty lunch.

Day 3 Tembe Elephant Park witness of the largest Elephants on Earth

Its a early start as we travel North to Tembe Elephant Park today, on arrival get settled in and enjoy some lunch, just enough time to enjoy a afternoon game drive safari. We go in search of the largest Elephants not to mention that this park also offers sights of the Big 5. Its watering holes, hides and sandy roads that will make this safari one never to be forgotten. Enjoy time around the bush fire while in the wild.

Day 4 Tembe Elephant Park & Hluhluwe Game Reserve the oldest proclaimed reserve in Africa

After a delightful breakfast we head of for another safari while in Tembe, its early morning and the predators are stalking, birds chirping and with an estimated 340 bird species don’t forget that birding list. A light brunch after the safari and then we travel to the magnificent Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve with an opportunity of witnessing the Big 5, Cheetah and Wild Dogs. Our game rangers know what your expectations are and with years of experience in the reserve they will undoubtedly go out of their way to ensure this may be just one of the highlights. Rich in history this reserve was the backbone of saving the White Rhino from near extinction in the mid 60′s and still today the same methods are made use of. Travel through the Northern section of Hluhluwe its thick lush bush, rolling hills and magnificent scenes of Africa all while in the comfort and company of your ranger.

We arrive late afternoon at Mpila Camp, enough time to relax, get settled in and enjoy a traditional South African braai (barbeque) dinner.

Day 4 Umfolozi Game Reserve Safari

We are the first to leave the camp this morning to go in search of what remains elusive, your ranger has prepared some warm refreshment’s and with the latest updates we head of for the last day’s safari. The Umfolozi with it open grasslands ideal for spotting Cheetah, abundant water sources for more incredible sights and wild dog hunting packs will ensure a truly adventurous day. Late afternoon we travel back to St Lucia.

Day 5 Boat Safari & King Shaka International Airport.

After a delightful breakfast your guide and now personal friend will take you on a Boat Safari this two hour outing on the largest Estuarine system in Africa gets you close to the resident Hippo’s and Nile Crocodiles, with an estimated 450 species of Bird life a great chance to check the remainder of that birding list, after which we travel to King Shaka International Airport and bid you farewell.
