Guest Sighting: Nicci Auchincloss
An enormous thanks to Nicci for sharing her adventure while out in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Nicci submitted some of her favorite sightings from the past long weekend. We are truly thankful for her in sharing some of her highlights.
We were in the park from Saturday, 22nd, to Monday, 24th September. We entered through Memorial gate and pretty much our first sighting was the lions and cubs near Keith's Pan. Samango was close to Hilltop Camp. The hyenas was at our safari tent camp at Mpila on both nights that we stayed. The vultures and the elephants were all more on the Imfolozi side of the park.
We saw this wonderful sighting near Keith's Pan over the long weekend! Even got to see the cubs suckling as well! And some vultures mating. Hyenas inviting themselves to our braai at Mpila Camp. We had a wonderful weekend, with a number of firsts for us, including the Samango monkey. And managed to get this quite odd photo of two ele bulls having a bit of a tussle on the tar road, where the two ele faces look like one from this angle.
Venturing into the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park remains such an incredible journey. One has the possibility of witnessing such an array of wildlife be it on a self drive of organised safari.
Once again an enormous thanks to Nicci for sharing her experiences while out in the bush. Should you also like to let us know about your time in the park please do let us know.
