Hilltop Camp

Hilltop Camp is in Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve . 3 Hr drive from Durban South Africa ,just inland from the coast of st Lucia South Africa .

The Big reason so many people come each year to this amazing game park Hluhluwe is, its wildlife. Still roaming wild and plentiful. Yes there are many other game parks in South Africa , and well ,in the whole of Africa but the big reason Umfolozi and Hluhluwe are tops is , they are small in comparison ,with very high population of the big 5 .the advantage to this is, in just few hrs or so, you will run into some amazing photo ops ,thats just great value .When traveling from overseas On limited time say for just a few days, you don’t want to drive for 2 days looking all over to see elephants or Lions ,Cheetah ,wild dogs and all kinds of Birds . There is just so much in this lush wild african bush .

Hilltop Top Camp

Is very well run and has a lot to offer in rustic flavor.Its not the most luxurious of all the game parks but I feel it really captures the African bush feel ,while being low impact on the wild life .

They offer a fantastic restaurant overlooking the Black Umfolozi river , great big deck for sundowners to catch the elusive African sunset .The food is great and well priced ,ranging form R45 and up pp.

There are small shops to buy thing you forgot and fuel unleaded only , but also desal . There is a mechanic if you run into problems .

GATE TIMES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED Distance and Time from Gate to Hilltop Camp: 15km; 45 minutes drive approx. Check In Time is from 14h00 Check Out Time is not later than 10h00

The Hluhluwe accommodation is mix up in many affordable ranges from ,

Rondavels , which are a communal type set up , The communal part is that you would share the shower/toilets and great full kitchen. Its quite fun really meeting like minded people from all over the world who share your passion and are so excited to be in the South Africa Bush .

Then next we have 2 bed chalets that are self catering and non.Very African style thatched roof stick type construction with mud brick walls ,open plan .The self cater have all you need for great holiday .Linen and all cutlery and on suite shower.

The non self cater has small bar fridge , but does not have a place to braai .So all your meals will be had at the Hilltop Camp restaurant . Then there are at hilltop camp ,4 bed chalets that are fully self catering , with braai and all cooking equipment same as the 2 bed chalets self cater. Its just they have 2 sep bedrooms with 2 beds in each . There are also so Higher end Bush lodges for large groups up to 8 people per unit , Like Muntulu Bush lodge and Munyawaneni  Bush Lodge , In these great adventure accommodation the sky’s the limit . You can Hire a full time cook and have babysitting and have laundry done for you .Or You can all do it together the braai outside on the deck ,overlooking the Black River , or head up to the bar, have cocktail or 2 while the sunsets, with other new friends . Its all up to you ..
