Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve Lion in a Tree

This is a common occurrence during the Summer season when one has an opportunity to witness the Lion’s in trees in the lower Umfolozi Game Reserve. The Lion’s make use of the trees due to the hot humid conditions during this period.

Rhino in the wild

This has to be one of our favourite’s, a close up sighting of this incredible animal will make any safari a memorable

Wild Dogs of Umfolozi

It is always such a treat to come across the Wild Dogs in the reserve. As of late the Wild Dogs have had 6 pups and are currently all doing very well. Should you want be on the look out for these Dogs then it is our advice that you remain in the Umfolozi Game Reserve side as they are seen their more often.

Rhino on Safari

A unique and incredible sighting, unfortunately we are not able to disclose the where abouts

Lions in Hluhluwe Umfolozi Reserve

The population of Lion’s within the Hluhluwe Game Reserve is very evident. The Lion’s are very healthy and are more often witnessed close to water sources. Please note that one may exit one’s car at various areas within the reserve however caution should be practised as these animals do roam.

Rhino Road Block

This is truly a captivating picture, and we have thus refered to it as the Rhino Road Block and for good reason help enforce and report Rhino Poaching or any irregular movement within the game reserve

Hot & Humid

Zululand is known for its hot and humid Summer conditions and not better picture could captivate that very saying. Here the locals enjoy a refreshing mud spa day

Cub’s Day Out

This picture was taken early June. One can clearly see the Cub’s enjoying a day out walking on the tar road. Since this picture was taken unfortunately one of the cubs has died.

Female Lion’s

These two females are in a prime condition they where recently witnessed in the Umfolozi Game Reserve tendering to their cubs

Splendid Hairstyling

This dominant male Lion has definitely the most peculiar hair style that we have seen in ages. As the saying goes maybe he rose from the wrong side of the bush
