Your First Safari
If you have ever dreamed of going on Safari, then you just have to visit Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Magical wildlife and amazing scenery await's you. No matter if this is your First Safari or Not.
Going on Safari in South Africa for the First Time
Never been on Safari and have always dreamt of it, well just imagine Elephants trumpeting, Lion roars in the distance or Giraffes walking across the savannah plains. No safari is ever the same and this is what makes a true safari so remarkable, be it your first safari or not.
We are often asked when or to go on safari and the answer is always the same, anytime. The reason being is that the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is large in size (96000 hectares), home to the African Big 5, and no two safaris are the same.
Each Safari Park is different and may not include certain wildlife species. So before setting off on your first safari make sure you know which wildlife you would like to spot and ensure that the park does have these wildlife species.
What's it like going on Safari in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, KwaZulu Natal for the first time?
KwaZulu Natal is home to the true African Safari, lush bush, open grassland savannahs, incredible biodiversity, and of course magnificent wildlife. Easy access to this national park via national roads and the international airport (King Shaka Durban).
A typical day out on safari starts early, this is purely due to the predators being more active early morning. Your ranger for the day would already have rolled up the sides of the Open Game Drive Vehicle and asked you which animals you would like to try and see. From here your ranger would also have given you a quick introduction to the park as well as some impressive history of the park. That first meter into the park is always one of excitement and anticipation and yes it's the same for every single person.
Game viewing is a relaxed adventure, slow and mesmerizing as the sun starts to show her face. Your safari will predominantly take place in the Lower Imfolozi part of the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park this is due to its larger size and also more animals that frequent this area. Time for you to sit back and let your ranger take care of you for the remainder of the day.
Breakfast will be enjoyed at one of the numerous lookout points, and lunch is a traditional South African Braai (BBQ). All rangers have numerous years of experience and undoubtedly will ensure that you have a tremendous time out on safari.
What about other Safari destinations as our First Safari? and Private versus Public Parks?
As mentioned every safari is special and different, at the end of the day it all depends on what it is that you would like to see while out on Safari.
Other destinations such as Rwanda specialize in Gorilla safaris, and therefore it is important to know what type of safari you would like to enjoy as your first safari.
We are also often asked about Private Game Reserves versus Public Game Reserves. This question is easily answered, how much money are you willing or wanting to spend? Private Game Reserves are without a doubt impressive, with luxurious accommodations, however, the cost can not guarantee which wildlife you will see.
