Formerly separated into two distinct reserves one may now venture into both parks via any of the main gates (Memorial Gate in the Hluhluwe side and the Nyalazi Gate in the Umfolozi side). The park comprises of 96000 hectares with incredible scenery, rolling hills and numerous hides scattered across the reserve. 3 Hour safari, these safaris depart either early morning or midday depending on availability conservation levies are included in the price.
Half day safari, departing early morning 5:00 am from St Lucia or meet at the respective gates at 6:00 am enjoy bush catering wildlife and incredible information from your personal game ranger.
Full Day safari, departing early morning not only will you experience the very best that the reserve has to offer but also be treated to a traditional South African Braai.

Hluhluwe Game Reserve remains the top destination while in Zululand South Africa, with easy access from Durban a mere 2,5 hours drive North one can experience the African bush, not only can one witness the abundance of wildlife but also witness and enjoy South Africa’s very first world heritage site ( St Lucia ) this area known for its resident Hippo’s that frequent the streets at night can be seen during a boat cruise on one of the largest estuaries in Africa home to approx. 800 hippo’s and 1200 Crocodiles not to mention the enormous variety of birdlife found within the area. Boat cruises are 2 hours long and one journeys up the along the banks of the St Lucia Estuary each boat has dedicated and experienced skippers with numerous years knowledge of the area.
